Shop our Summer Floral Collection

Affectionately known as 'Sunflowers', this spectacular bloom is part of the daisy family. This annual and perennial flowering plant is native to North America, and the 'common sunflower' seeds and sprouts have a number of medicinal uses. The seeds are edible and contain numerous antioxidants, as well as concentrated vitamins A, B, C and Niacin.

Fun in the Sun - Sunflower Fun Facts

  • The world’s tallest sunflower is featured in the Guinness Book of World Records, standing at just over 30 foot high!
  • The sunflower face tracks the sun and though commonly yellow in color, they do come in other colors.
  • Sunflowers symbolize adoration, loyalty and faith.

"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It’s what sunflowers do." Helen Keller

While they grow rapidly in the garden, a cut sunflower bouquet needs a little extra care to help them last as long as possible in the home.

  • Yes! Sunflowers love the sun. Try to find a sunny spot in your home, but be careful not to place your sunflower bouquet too close to a window, or they may get sunburned.
  • Always cut the stems at a 45-degree angle with some sharp secateurs, or floral scissors.
  • Remove any leaves that may be submerged in the vase water.
  • Don't use iced water in your vase. Instead use water that is room temperature or even a little warmer.
  • Make sure to add the food provided with your floral delivery.

Sunflowers make a wonderful gift, but we LOVE using sunflower bouquets to decorate the home for special parties, especially for a summer barbecue or brunch event.
